Perfect for little ones

5/55/5 • 20/07/2025

Club Med is always a wonderful escape. Ixtapa is perfect for little children. The resort is small and quiet. Lots of fun activities for kids. Calm beaches and nice swimming pools. The turtle excursion is very special. The GOs always go above and beyond. Very casual dining compared to some other Club Med locations. Lots of fun for everyone

Beautiful beach but needs updates

4/54/5 • 12/07/2025

This is my third time at Club Med Ixtapa and I like that this resort is small and easy to get around. It only has 1 main buffet restaurant and a smaller snack bar type of restaurant as well as 1 main pool and a kiddie pool next to it. I've been to places that are so large you need a golf cart or tram to get around. This place is much more intimate. It looks exactly the same as when I visited in 2014 except the rooms and facilities show more wear. Each time I stayed in the iguana building with a balcony and have enjoyed those rooms. They are spacious with a separate room for kids.

I like that the resort isn't crowded and can easily find lounge chairs by the pool and at the beach. There's none of that stress related to getting up very early and getting the best loungers. Also we've vacationed in Cabo and Cancun several times and the beach at Ixtapa is far superior than any of those places. In Cabo you can't even get into the ocean because the currents are too strong and in Cancun there's a huge problem we've seen with seaweed lining the beaches. The beach at ixtapa is beautiful.

I think this resort now suffers from low capacity. When I first came here in 2014 the resort was pretty full and had more of a party vibe. There weren't any or many locals and were mostly European and American guests. Now the resort relies on locals to fill occupancy. The GOs were also very international but now are mostly Mexicans or from Latin American countries. I think they're catering more to Mexicans. I'm fine with these changes, but was surprised how much the vibe has changed since I hadn't been there for 5+ years. I'd say this place is great for families and those that want to chill. It's not great for those who are young and want to party. This is not a spring break type of resort.

Food was decent, not great. Cushions in the restaurant chairs look very worn. Room looked the same but furniture and fixtures look more worn and scratched.

Tried the spa and Clara gave the best massage. I liked that they added a wellness program with meditation and yoga. Manuela was a great instructor. Aquagym with Jersey was good. Anto at the bar was really helpful and got me some fresh coconut juice at the Wednesday bbq. He deserves to be promoted to bar manager at some point.

I'd come back for the pristine beach and the relaxing atmosphere, but it really needs an upgrade. I just hope that it somehow gets a remodel soon. I think with so many other choices for all inclusive in Mexico this simple resort has lost business in favor of the resorts with many pools, swim up bars, multiple restaurants, water parks, and even amusement parks. But those resorts could be overly crowded and not as relaxing. I've been to several with some of the amenities I listed, but actually prefer the simplicity this one offers. I hope they have a strategy to get more business, renovate, and turn this little piece of paradise into something special.

I talked to someone who works here and I guess they get a lot more business during the holidays when it's cold in America so hopefully they have plans to renovate and stay open.

Incredible Family Vacation at Club Med Ixtapa!

5/55/5 • 12/07/2025

Our first time at any Club Med—and we loved it! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms, especially by Eliot, who is truly one of the kindest, most adorable people we've ever met. He made our stay unforgettable with his warmth and generosity.

We had the best mix of adventure and family time—snorkeling at the island, visiting a turtle sanctuary, and an epic tour through Zihuatanejo. Every activity was well-organized and full of fun.

Huge thank you to Carolina and Dennisse for their energy and kindness—we danced and dined with them, and they made us feel like part of the Club Med family.

The vibe at Club Med Ixtapa is all about joy, connection, and living life fully. We’ll carry these memories with us always. Highly recommend!
